Psalm 91:1-16

This psalm assured Sandy, who I know trusted in the Lord, that God was his refuge and that he could seek Him in times of spiritual and physical danger.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

[2] I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!"

[3] Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare And from the deadly pestilence.

[4] He will cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

[5] You will not fear the terror of night, Nor the arrow that flies by day;

[6] Nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, Nor the plague that destroys at midday.

[7] A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.

[8] You will only observe with your eyes, And see the punishment of the wicked.

[9] For if you make the most high your dwelling - even the Lord, who is my refuge -

[10] Then no harm will befall you, No disaster will come near your tent.

[11] For He will command His angels concerning you, To guard you in all your ways.

[12] They will lift you up in their hands, So you will not strike your foot against a stone.

[13] You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; You will trample the great lion and the serpent.

[14] "Because he loves Me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

[15] "He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

[16] "With a long life will I satisfy him, And show him My salvation."

Most High - tells us that God is greater than any threat we will ever face.

Almighty - reminds us of His omnipotence - His power to confront and destroy every enemy.

The Lord - reminds us of his omnipresence - that He is always with us and will never leave us nor forsake us.

My God - expresses the intimate relationship He has with those who trust in Him.

Today we can cry - today we can grieve - today we can be sorrowful because we have lost a loved one and we will miss him - but - at the same time we can rejoice and praise the Lord because Sandy has gone “Home”

Today Sandy is in the presence of Jesus - where the father is ever present and His glory shines

He is in a place where there is no darkness; a place where there are no tears, no death, no pain, no mourning, no crying, no fear....

The word of God says in ....John 14:1-3

"Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. [2] "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. [3] "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Rev. 14:13
“And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, "Write, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!' " "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them."

Sandy is in a place of rest - a place of comfort - a place with no more struggles - a place with no pills, needles, or anguish.

Rev. 21:4
“...and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

Sandy is in a place where there is no death; no mourning; no crying; no pain.

2 Cor. 5:8 says.
“ be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”

In John 14:3 Jesus said, “I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”

Today Sandy is with Jesus - he is in His arms, surrounded by His perfect love and peace.

I am confident that Sandy would want me to tell you the way that you can be assured that you will be with him for eternity

John 14:6

“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.”

Romans 10:9-10
“...that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; [10] for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”

Romans 10:13
“Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

Ephes. 2:8-9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; [9] not as a result of works, that no one should boast.”
